Welcome to Westall
At Westall Secondary College, dedicated teaching, and education support staff work collaboratively in teams to plan and facilitate a teaching a learning program that meets the needs of all students. Our focus on a personalised learning approach helps ensure every student is nurtured, challenged, and connected in their growth as a person and as a learner.
The Westall Way captures our teaching, learning and wellbeing model across the school. Westall Way charts are on the walls of every classroom in every year level. The Westall Way includes our high impact wellbeing strategies, our literacy focus through student voice and agency, a school wide positive behaviour system and a Westall wall of achievement. Most importantly, the Westall Way details our teaching instructional model (EDI-Explicit Direct Instruction). This is an evidence-based teaching model based on Cognitive Science and endorsed across the Victorian Education system and Australian education Research Organisation……. it really works. It helps explain our above average NAPLAN results every year and our overall outstanding school performance against multiple metrics.

The unique iCreate program offered to every student from Year 7 through to Year 12, every Wednesday, is our flagship program that sets us apart.
