The Westall Secondary College House system is used as the basis for many intraschool competitions such as athletics, swimming, cross country, chess and other whole school-based activities designed to promote camaraderie and school spirit in a friendly yet competitive environment. There are four houses that students are assigned to.

Named after Banjo Paterson, a legendary Australian bush poet. Known for his iconic works like “Waltzing Matilda,” Paterson house reflects a focus on national pride, adventure, and a love for the Australian landscape.

This house honours Henry Lawson, one of Australia’s greatest short story writers & poets. Lawson’s works often capture the hardships of rural Australia, emphasizing themes of mateship, endurance, and community.

Named after C.J. Dennis, famous for his humorous and narrative poetry, particularly “The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke”, representing a light-hearted yet profound approach to life.

Named after Adam Lindsay Gordon, a significant Australian poet. Gordon’s works often reflect themes of courage, adventure, and resilience, making this house a symbol of boldness and perseverance.
